SMD LED are light-emitting diodes in which the elements ofthe diodes are mounted directly onto the surface of printed circuit boards. Aprinted circuit board is a flat board used to electrically connect and supportelectronic components. LEDs are bulbs that fit into an electric circuit and areilluminated by the movement of electrons.

Applications

SMD LEDs can be used for aviation and automotive lightingapplications and in traffic signals. SMD LEDs are also used to light upwatches, transmit information from remote control units and form numbers ondigital clocks.

SMD LEDs are also typicallysmaller than incandescent light bulbs, have greater durability due to sturdierdesign, and use faster switching.
