Sometimes you see a light tube blinking in your bedroom, you may think it’s because of poor contact, due to long time usage?
Why a LED blinks after using for a period of time?
A LED lifespan is about 50,000 hours ( about 5 years), so after using for a few year, it’s almost comes to the end of lifespan, emits light fitful, and some components in driver aging, disable, which cause the output DC voltage unstable, LED can not work normally and blinks.
How to repair a LED lamp if it burns out after blinking a while ?
A LED lamp consists of constant-current drive circuit and LED device,this frequent trouble is caused by damage of LED device and filter capacitor.
1. There are black spots when a LED burned out.
Generally, a LED lamp is sealed tightly, when a LED works long time in enclosed space, if the working current is large,and heat dissipation is poor, LED is easily burned out due to overheating. Some LEDs are in the critical state of damage, whenpower on the LED due to current strike.it may be flash and then burns out. Most LED lamps are a number LEDs in series, if one LED damaged, the whole LED lamp can not light up.
Is there anything we can do to save this damaged LED lamp ? Yes, if you have the same type LEDs, you can remove the broken LEDs, and replace them with new ones. If no same LEDs, we still can use a small resistor (which is less than 10 ohms) to weld in the damaged LED position, the LED lamp will resume work normally.
2. The fault in constant current drive circuit -constant current LED driver
Now day LED blubs generally use a special constant-current IC to form a constant drive circuit. The constant current IC, inductor coil and rectifier tubes in this constant current circuit are rarely damaged. The easily damaged components is high voltage filter capacitor. This kind of capacitors are electrolytic capacitors, The voltage resistance value of some bulb filter capacitors is low. If the AC 220V voltage is high, it may lead to the breakdown and damage of the capacitor, then cause the constant current drive circuit cannot work normally and the lamp can not light up. When the power filter capacitor is damaged, can use the electrolytic capacitor with the same capacity and the voltage value is not lower than the original capacitor to replaced it.
LED light blinking
There are four possibilities to cause the LED blinking:
1）LED doesn’t match LED driver. A 1w LED accept current 280-350mA, voltage 2.8-3.4v, if the LED chip is not enough power will cause the LED blinking when it is power up, and current is too high to accept , the LED will also blink, in serious situation the gold wire or copper wire in LED will be burn out, then LED can not light up.

3）Assume the driver has overtemperature maintenance function, the material heat dissipation function of the lamp can not meet the requirement, it will also makes the LED blink. For example, use a 10w LED lamp shell to make a 20w LED lamp shell, heat dissipation is not good.
4）Assume outdoor use LED lamp also has blinking situation, that is the lamps are flooded. LED and driver broken, if in good water-proof,it will only break the LEDs, just need to change LEDs.
